DOLAN's non-profit is The Laundry Truck LA: a free mobile laundry service for people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.

Our Non-profit

The Laundry Truck LA (TLTLA), is at the heart of our local social mission. With the LA Fashion District situated alongside the community of Skid Row, our mission to serve those experiencing homelessness became clear: we make clothes – let’s wash and clean some clothes! In October 2017, we founded The Laundry Truck LA (TLTLA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, which funds a free mobile laundry service for the homeless and our neighbors in need in Los Angeles. We became one of the first mobile laundry services in the country to serve the homeless community, and one of a handful that we know of in the world.

Our Story


In 2018, DOLAN set out to build the truck through private donations and received support from many. TLTLA began serving the community in January 2019 with 5 sets of washers & dryers, a folding station, a water heater, and propane tanks on a 16' trailer. Initially operating 2x per week, it’s estimated we did 3,000-4,000 loads of laundry for those in need in 2019. As of January 2021, with the help of the City of Los Angeles and so many more, we have two trucks and a dedicated team serving clean laundry every day, seven days a week (including night shifts!) at parks, recreation centers, motels and other sites around our city for people experiencing homelessness with the ability to wash 15,000 loads of laundry in a year! 

Accessible personal care services, like clean laundry, truly impact lives, and can make the difference in securing employment or housing, or for kids, the difference in having a positive school experience. Our proceeds, your donations and the City of Los Angeles keep The Laundry Truck LA moving and making an impact!  Together, we've met our goal to bring this service to life but still need just over $4k per month at each location to continue reaching those in need.
